The 12th edition of the Cultural Festival of Inchad concluded on Thursday evening at the Moufdi Zakaria Cultural House in Ouargla, celebrated with an awards ceremony attended by a large audience. The event showcased various performances and recognized exceptional talents in traditional musical genres, specifically focusing on Inchad and Madih religious music.

Competing troupes from multiple regions participated in the festival, with the Blabel El-Afaq troupe from El Oued winning the first prize in the Inchad category. The El-Houda troupe from El-Meghaïer excelled in the traditional Madih religious music category, showcasing the rich cultural expressions of their communities. In the female Inchad category, El-Anamil Adhahabia from El-Meniaa took home the top honor.

In the individual competition for artists under 13, Issa Boukhris from N’goussa (Ouargla) and Khalil Soud from Touggourt shared the first-place title in the Inchad category. The winning troupes from this edition are set to participate in the upcoming International Festival of Inchad scheduled in Constantine. Additionally, they will receive training opportunities to enhance their skills in this traditional form of music.

The festival ran from March 15 to 20 and featured approximately 20 troupes and mounchidine (musicians), representing six wilayas (provinces). The audience enjoyed captivating musical performances from the El-Ichraq troupe of Metlili (Ghardaïa) and renowned artists Zakaria Mammeri and Zinelabidine Mech, who mesmerized the fully packed auditorium.

During the closing ceremony, Festival Commissioner Ali Tarmoun emphasized the high caliber of participants this year, praising the efforts of the jury president and music expert Aderraouf Amoura. He highlighted the importance of this cultural event for the wilaya and the broader southeastern region of Algeria, which is rich in artistic talent. The festival not only provides a platform for established artists but also serves as a vital opportunity to discover and nurture emerging talents in the field of Inchad.
