Dino Scala, surnamed « the rapist of the Sambre, » faces new legal challenges with a court appearance scheduled for May 15. He may be indicted on 16 new sexual offenses, including two rapes, six attempts, and six sexual assaults, some involving minors, occurring between 1986 and 2009. Scala is a convicted serial sex offender, sentenced in July 2022 to 20 years in prison for 54 sexual crimes committed between 1988 and 2018. During the trial, he admitted to 40 of the 56 alleged assaults and later withdrew his intention to appeal his sentence.
