Gérard Jugnot is embarking on a unique project with his 13th film, a comedy inspired by the enigmatic Dupont de Ligonnès case, where a father is suspected of murdering his family. Despite the grim nature of the events, Jugnot aims to focus on the 2019 mistaken arrest in Glasgow, emphasizing the media frenzy surrounding it. Co-writing the script, he envisions a humorous take on real, social themes. The film, titled « Mauvaise pioche, » is set for a May 2026 release, with filming currently underway in Marseille and Martigues. Jugnot will portray Guy Joao, the wrongfully arrested retiree.
