Objectware, a computer services and consulting firm, was found guilty of « involuntary manslaughter » linked to the suicide of a 62-year-old employee at its Strasbourg workplace in 2021. The company was fined €70,000 by the local court. The employee, during the COVID-19 pandemic, faced isolation, insufficient training, and criticism from his supervisor, leading to his tragic decision. The court noted Objectware’s failure to monitor working hours and address psychosocial risks. The decision must be published in Le Figaro. Despite claiming a « Great place to work » designation, the company was criticized for neglecting employees’ working conditions.
