Summary of the Third Edition of the African Business Fair in Oran

The recent Third Edition of the African Business Fair held in Oran has provided a significant platform for enhancing trade and investment opportunities among African nations. Participants from both national and international backgrounds noted the event’s potential to foster economic collaboration across the continent.

Hamedi Mansour Abdelkader, assistant to the CEO of Getex Holding, which specializes in clothing and leather, highlighted the enthusiasm shown by various attendees towards their products, especially those catering to institutional clothing needs. Similarly, El Hilal, a producer of notebooks and books, reported growing interest from multiple African operators, with export director Chergui Djameï mentioning their recent acquisition of a machine to fulfill large orders tailored to the standards of specific countries.

African operators shared positive feedback on the quality of Algerian products. Goni Boulama Abdoulkader, a representative from a pharmaceutical company in Niger, revealed productive discussions with Saïdal, a well-known Algerian reference in the region, aiming to establish business partnerships. Zeyneb Smida, president of the International Committee of Women Entrepreneurs in Tataouine, Tunisia, also praised the appeal of Algerian companies in various sectors, including agri-food and textiles.

Mohamed Hamani, a Mauritanian operator in construction materials, asserted that importing materials from Algeria proves to be more beneficial than sourcing from Asia, citing comparable, if not better, quality. This fair not only facilitated concrete exchanges but also underscored Algeria’s role in bolstering economic integration across Africa, showcasing the competitiveness of its enterprises on a continental scale.

Further reinforcing these sentiments, Moukhtar Wawa Dahab, the Chadian ambassador to Algeria, remarked on the exponential growth of the Algerian industry, indicating that its development presents attractive prospects for multiple African countries.

The fair’s success underscores Algeria’s growing influence in the African economic landscape, opening doors for extensive collaboration and fostering a stronger sense of unity among African nations. With the attention garnered, the expectation is that such initiatives will contribute to a more integrated economic future across the continent.
