A national children’s song contest is set to take place as part of the 19th edition of the National Days of Children’s Song next year at the "Abi Rass Ennaceri" Cultural Center in Mascara. This initiative was announced by the organizers during the closing ceremony of the 18th edition of the event.
Purpose and Objectives
According to Sid Ahmed Seghiri, the director of the Cultural Center, the contest targets vocal groups participating in the upcoming edition. A jury comprising specialized artists will assess the performances. The primary goal of the contest is to introduce a competitive element to this cultural gathering and to encourage groups to create and perform educational, awareness-raising, and culturally significant songs.
Seghiri also mentioned that during the four days of cultural festivities in the past edition, various musical, theatrical, and entertainment shows attracted over 2,000 children. The closing ceremony of the 18th National Days of Children’s Song featured patriotic songs performed by the "Thoulathi El-Basma" group from Tipaza and "Caravane" from Mascara. Additionally, a musical comedy titled "Balade en mélodies," produced by the "El Richa" association from Relizane and directed by Fouad Rezzine, highlighted the friendly rivalry among three friends in the realm of educational music. All participating groups were honored at the end of the event.
Event Significance
This annual event, organized in recognition of International Children’s Day, showcased participation from eight singing troupes representing the wilayas of Oran, El Oued, Sidi Bel-Abbes, Tipaza, Relizane, and Mascara.
