Summary of the Business Forum Agreements in Algeria

On Thursday, the Business Forum (Thiqah) of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) signed several "strategic" agreements in Algiers aimed at enhancing investment and economic cooperation within Algeria. These agreements were established with the Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (ABEF), the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), and the Arab-African Center for Investment and Development (CAAID). The signing took place in the presence of government officials, business leaders, and international partners, according to an IDB statement.

The ceremony was part of the private sector forum held alongside the annual meetings of the IDB Group, which were held under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The forum, themed "Diversifying the Economy, Enriching Life," concluded after four days of discussions at the International Conference Center (CIC).

The agreement with ABEF aims to enhance partnership and cooperation in investment matters, promoting the exchange of business opportunities and joint organization of forums, conferences, and workshops. The intent behind this is to contribute to the growth of the financial and investment sectors in member countries, particularly focusing on Algeria, as stated in the IDB press release.

Regarding the agreement with CACI, it focuses on facilitating the exchange of information on trade and investment opportunities, promoting cross-participation in economic events, and encouraging exchanges of delegations. The IDB expressed its ambition to stimulate economic development and broaden partnerships between the Algerian private sector and that of other member countries.

The deal signed with CAAID emphasizes cooperation in investment and development areas, committing to jointly organize regional and international conferences, share expertise, and facilitate delegation exchanges. This initiative aims to invigorate economic cooperation with global investment stakeholders.

These agreements reflect a shared vision to promote sustainable development and integrate regional and global economies, as emphasized by the IDB’s communications.

In conclusion, the strategic agreements signed during this forum highlight Algeria’s commitment to fostering economic diversification and cooperation, aiming to enhance its investment landscape in collaboration with regional and international partners.
