saisie de plus de 4kg de cocaïne
Summary of the Drug Trafficking Operation in Algiers
On Sunday, the Cheraga Research and Investigation Service, in collaboration with the Zeralda Road Safety Squadron of the National Gendarmerie, dismantled a cocaine trafficking network in the Algiers province. More than 4 kg of cocaine were seized during the operation.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to combat all forms of crime. According to a source, the operation began when the Zeralda Road Safety Squadron intercepted two vehicles at a checkpoint on the Western expressway. The driver of the first vehicle fled the scene, but the second vehicle was successfully stopped.
Upon searching the second vehicle, authorities discovered packages containing 3.3 kg of cocaine. Two individuals were arrested, and the vehicle was confiscated. Following this, investigators conducted interrogations that led to the identification of a primary suspect who remains at large.
Authorities then searched the suspect’s home, where they uncovered an additional 850 grams of cocaine, cash, and processed cannabis. Legal procedures are now ongoing, and the suspects will be presented before the relevant judicial authorities.
This operation underscores the commitment of Algerian law enforcement to address the ongoing issues surrounding drug trafficking and related criminal activity within the country.
