Marine Le Pen, leader of the far-right, has been sentenced to ineligibility following a trial regarding the misuse of European parliamentary funds linked to the National Front (FN). The Paris court found her and eight other MEPs guilty of embezzling public funds, with a total estimated damage of €4.5 million. The prosecution demanded a five-year ineligibility and a fine of €300,000, asserting that the fraudulent system spanned from 2004 to 2016. Although Le Pen rejected the accusations, claiming no wrongdoing, the court ruled for immediate consequences, highlighting the organized nature of the wrongdoing under her leadership.
