Near Marseille, a truck carrying over 9 tons of cannabis resin was hijacked on April 21. Following the robbery at a Vitrolles gas station, anonymous tips helped police locate the stolen vehicle. A surveillance operation led to the discovery of cannabis concealed in sealed containers in a truck registered in Morocco. On April 22, authorities seized 9.133 tons of cannabis, valued at €72 million. Two men were arrested and charged with drug trafficking and armed robbery. The case has been transferred to the National Jurisdiction Against Organized Crime for further investigation, marking one of France’s largest drug seizures.
