Algerian Educational Support for Students with Special Needs
On a recent trip to specialized educational institutions in Algiers, Soraya Mouloudji, the Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Conditions, announced that over 1,200 students with specific needs will be sitting for their primary education assessment this academic year. This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to inclusivity in the educational system.
Assessment for Primary Education
Mouloudji specified that the 1,200 students would participate in an evaluation designed to assess their competencies based on their various disabilities, including auditory, visual, and mild intellectual impairments. This exam aims to gauge the capabilities of this demographic, ensuring tailored evaluations that genuinely reflect their learning and understanding.
The Ministry has developed specialized guides to assist these students in preparing for their assessments. These guides cover essential subjects included in the end-of-cycle evaluation, notably English language materials. Such supportive resources demonstrate the government’s ongoing dedication to facilitating a more inclusive and adaptive learning environment.
Secondary Education Exams
In addition to the primary evaluation, Mouloudji highlighted that more than 1,600 students with specific needs are candidates for the Brevet d’Enseignement Moyen (BEM) this year. Furthermore, 1,024 students will be appearing for the baccalaureate exam. This progressive initiative underscores the state’s focus on providing opportunities for all students, regardless of their challenges.

During her statements, Mouloudji praised the efforts of the state in prioritizing the needs of individuals with disabilities.
