Summary of the Requisition and Management of Commercial Activities During Aïd El-Adha in Setif

In light of the upcoming Aïd El-Adha celebrations, a significant effort has been made to ensure the availability of essential goods and services for the public. The regional commerce directorate of Setif has announced the requisition of 11,356 merchants across six wilayas—Setif, Bejaia, M’sila, Mila, Jijel, and Bordj Bou Arreridj. This operation aligns with directives from the Ministry of Commerce aimed at normalizing the supply of commonly consumed goods during the holiday period.

Distribution and Types of Businesses Involved

The announced program emphasizes the diversity of commercial activities that will remain operational during the Aïd, including:

  • Bakeries: 4,214 bakeries will be open to meet the demand for bread and bakery items.
  • Milling Units: 81 flour mills are also under requisition to ensure the supply of flour.
  • Dairy: 23 dairies will provide milk and other dairy products.
  • Bottled Water Production: 14 units specializing in mineral water will be active.
  • General Commerce: 3,599 various shops offering diverse services are also included.

Logistics and Quality Control Measures

To maintain smooth operations, all wholesale markets in the designated wilayas will also be operational during the holiday to facilitate a steady supply of agricultural products, particularly fruits and vegetables.

The regional directorate has mobilized 521 control agents, with 112 stationed specifically in Setif, designated to oversee compliance among the 4,466 merchants requisitioned there. These agents will ensure that all urban and rural areas, including remote locations, are monitored effectively.

Technological Integration for Improvement

To enhance communication and service delivery, the introduction of the Morafik.com application allows citizens to report any issues regarding the availability of goods and services during the Aïd. This tool is seen as a pivotal step towards fostering better engagement between the public and the commerce sector, especially during peak periods like Aïd El-Adha.

Encouragement for Public Participation

The director has called upon citizens to utilize this application to report discrepancies, thereby contributing to the overall success of the operational program for Aïd El-Adha. The aim is to ensure that essential goods are readily available, allowing the community to celebrate the occasion without logistical hindrances.

In conclusion, the comprehensive preparation undertaken by the Setif regional commerce authority demonstrates a proactive approach to ensuring that the needs of citizens are met during the festive period, underlining the significance of coordination between governmental agencies and the commercial sector.
