Intensification of Attacks in Gaza: A Warning from Médecins Sans Frontières
Geneva – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) raised alarms on Thursday about escalating violent attacks in the Gaza Strip, resulting in significant casualties among the Palestinian population.
Claire Manera, MSF’s emergency coordinator in Gaza, expressed grave concern on social media, stating that "Palestinians are being killed and injured en masse as the forces intensify their attacks across the Gaza Strip." She highlighted the shocking lack of accountability surrounding these actions, stating, "We are at a loss for words, as each day sees new lives shattered."
Since March 2, MSF reported that no humanitarian aid has entered the Gaza Strip, following a decision by Israeli authorities. "We are running low on essential supplies and fuel necessary for our medical interventions, while the number of severe injuries continues to rise," the organization warned.
According to Palestinian health authorities, at least 33 people were reported killed and many others injured due to Israeli airstrikes on the city of Gaza, close to one of MSF’s clinics. MSF’s teams have managed to stabilize 28 patients who were subsequently transferred to Al-Shifa hospital, but the organization noted that two of its colleagues were also injured in the incident. This marks the third event involving numerous casualties that MSF had to manage within a single day in Gaza.
