Merad en visite de travail à Constantine

On Thursday, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Land Management, Brahim Merad, began a working visit to the Wilaya of Constantine. This visit included the presentation of keys to public rental housing for beneficiaries in the Hamma-Bouziane area, part of a quota that encompasses a total of 800 housing units.

During the ceremony held at the Ahmed-Bey Hall (Zenith), which was attended by Wali Abdelkhalek Sayouda and Director General of National Security (DGSN) Ali Badaoui, Minister Merad also oversaw the donation of 35 dialysis machines to specialized healthcare institutions. These machines were allocated to the Urology, Nephrology, and Kidney Transplantation Hospital in the Daksi-Abdeslam neighborhood, the Abdelkader-Bencherif Hospital in Ali-Mendjeli, and the hospital in the Didouche-Mourad commune.

In conjunction with the commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the Victory Day (March 19, 1962), Merad launched a project aimed at rehabilitating the alleys of the old city of Constantine. This project is part of a broader modernization initiative aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure while preserving the city’s architectural heritage.

The minister also inaugurated the headquarters of the regional office for the fight against organized crime in the Boussouf neighborhood of Constantine. He participated in the commissioning of urban security departments in key neighborhoods like Bekira (Hamma-Bouziane) and Ain Nehas (El Khroub), which is crucial for local safety and law enforcement.

Moreover, in Ali-Mendjeli, Minister Merad laid the symbolic first stone for a regional clinic with 95 beds dedicated to the DGSN, alongside a regional medical diagnostics and imaging center, also linked to the DGSN. He further visited the Massinissa urban area in El Khroub, where he presided over the ceremony for another urban security facility.

The program for his visit included the inauguration of a pharmaceutical products manufacturing plant in the 24-February industrial zone of Constantine. This private investment project is expected to create 30 job opportunities. Additionally, Merad inspected ongoing infrastructure projects, including the duplication of national roads No. 27 and 79, as well as initiatives in the fields of education and youth/sports.

Overall, Minister Merad’s visit underscored the government’s dedication to improving urban living standards and public safety through significant infrastructure investments and health services enhancements in Constantine.
