Encouraging Youth Engagement in Djelfa: A Ministerial Initiative

On Monday, in Djelfa, Minister of Youth, Mustapha Hidaoui, highlighted the vital need to make youth establishments more appealing in order to engage and support the younger population. This assertion came during a working visit and inspection of this wilaya, where he emphasized that all efforts must be directed toward attracting youth to these facilities. The ultimate goal, he explained, is to enable young people to unleash their energy and creativity.

Hidaoui underscored that creating this inviting atmosphere necessitates that sector leaders develop an action plan grounded in indicators that reflect the current situation. This strategy is crucial for overcoming challenges and truly focusing on youth engagement. He noted that the President of the Republic has a particular interest in the youth segment, which is evident from the various programs designed to empower them across numerous fields.

During his visit to the "Ben Ibrahim Youcef" youth center in Djelfa, the Minister explored stands that showcased innovations and youth activities. In addition, he presided over the signing of a partnership agreement between his ministry and the Muslim Scouts of Algeria (SMA). This agreement aims to provide the organization with access to youth structures while allowing the Ministry to benefit from the SMA’s expertise in effectively organizing and mentoring young people.

The Minister, along with local authorities, laid the foundation stone for a new youth center in the "Berbih" urban area as part of a complementary program that resulted in 65 specific development projects for the youth sector within the wilaya. Hidaoui emphasized the necessity of making this project an open space characterized by modern architecture, thereby attracting young people to such vital structures, which receive significant funding from the state.

Additionally, the Minister visited a youth center currently under construction in the 5th July district of the wilaya’s capital. He expressed optimism about the potential of these facilities in fostering youth engagement.

To conclude his visit to Djelfa, Hidaoui is set to attend the "Rahmani Lida" youth center in the adjacent Ain Oussara region, where he will explore successful projects initiated by the youth. He is also scheduled to participate in a collective iftar event alongside civil and security authorities, aimed at members of the Higher Youth Council (CSJ).

In summary, the commitment shown by Minister Hidaoui and the ongoing projects in Djelfa reflect a broader strategy aimed at revitalizing youth structures and enhancing engagement within this demographic. By fostering partnerships and modernizing facilities, the Algerian government aims to create an environment where youth can thrive creatively and socially.
