Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune is on an official state visit to Slovenia, having arrived in Ljubljana on Monday at the invitation of Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar. This significant visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Algeria and Slovenia.

On Wednesday, President Tebboune’s itinerary includes visits to several notable locations, including tourist attractions, equestrian facilities, and a firm specializing in space industry and artificial intelligence. These engagements underscore Algeria’s interest in various sectors while promoting tourism and technology.

The previous day was marked by extensive diplomatic engagements. President Tebboune held bilateral talks with President Musar, discussing a variety of topics pertinent to both nations. Additionally, he met with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, where they signed a joint declaration and several agreements focused on strategic sectors. These agreements are expected to facilitate cooperation in various fields, enhancing economic and political ties.

The visit also featured a meeting with Urska Klakocar Zupancic, President of the National Assembly of Slovenia. During this encounter, President Tebboune co-chaired the Algerian-Slovenian Economic Forum. He emphasized the importance of fostering economic and commercial relationships, calling upon businesspeople from both nations to elevate their collaboration to reflect the strong political rapport currently enjoyed between Algeria and Slovenia.

President Tebboune’s delegation is comprised of several key figures, including Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Energy; Sifi Ghrieb, Minister of Industry; Youcef Cherfa, Minister of Agriculture; Noureddine Ouadah, Minister for Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-Enterprises; and Houria Meddahi, Minister of Tourism and Crafts. This high-level delegation also includes Omar Rekkache, the Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), along with numerous leaders of public enterprises and business professionals.

Overall, President Tebboune’s state visit to Slovenia signifies a pivotal step toward enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, echoing the mutual commitment to strengthen ties between the two nations.
