Summary of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s State Visit to Slovenia

On Tuesday, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune continued his state visit to Slovenia, which began on Monday, at the invitation of Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar. The visit is part of efforts to boost bilateral relations and explore new partnership opportunities.

An official welcome ceremony is scheduled for President Tebboune at the Presidential Palace in Ljubljana. Following the ceremony, he will engage in direct talks with President Pirc Musar. These discussions will be expanded to include both delegations, focusing on enhancing cooperation across various sectors.

During his visit, President Tebboune will also meet with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob and the national assembly’s president, Urska Klakocar Zupancic. A key event will be the inauguration of the Algerian-Slovenian Economic Forum, which aims to identify ways to strengthen economic and trade ties. This forum aligns with the positive developments in bilateral relations observed in recent years, fueled by a shared commitment from the leadership of both nations.

President Tebboune’s delegation includes several key ministers: Ahmed Attaf (Foreign Affairs), Mohamed Arkab (Energy and Mining), Sifi Ghrieb (Industry), Youcef Cherfa (Agriculture), Noureddine Ouadah (Knowledge Economy and Start-ups), and Houria Meddahi (Tourism and Craftsmanship). The delegation is further supported by Omar Rekkache, director of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, alongside numerous public enterprise leaders and business representatives.

This visit highlights the strong desire from both Algeria and Slovenia to enhance their partnership, particularly in economic collaboration, and reflects a broader aspiration for mutual development and cooperation.
