Le ministre de la Santé reçoit l’ambassadeur de Tanzanie en Algérie

On Monday, the Algerian Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, met with the Tanzanian Ambassador to Algeria, Iman Salum Njalikai. The meeting, as reported in a statement from the Ministry, aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and broaden perspectives in various fields, particularly focusing on healthcare.

During their conversation, Minister Saihi emphasized Algeria’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its health system within a strategic African vision that encourages collaboration, especially with friendly nations such as the United Republic of Tanzania. He highlighted that the cooperation primarily revolves around training, knowledge exchange, and hospital twinning initiatives between the two countries.

Ambassador Njalikai acknowledged the long-standing historical ties between Algeria and Tanzania, which have been in place since the 1960s. He expressed gratitude for Algeria’s unwavering support for Tanzania and the nation’s strong dedication to enhancing health cooperation among African countries. Additionally, the ambassador commended Algeria for its diplomatic accomplishments, particularly noting the election of Selma Malika Haddadi as the vice-president of the African Union (AU) Commission.

Reiterating his appreciation for Algeria’s assistance in higher education, the Tanzanian diplomat underscored the significance of health cooperation, particularly in light of Algeria’s notable advancements in this sector compared to many other African nations. He called for a future bolstering of cooperation through the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and training programs.

At the conclusion of their meeting, both parties agreed to continue coordinating efforts and work towards drafting a memorandum of understanding. This agreement aims to solidify bilateral cooperation and expand collaborative prospects across multiple sectors, benefitting both Algeria and Tanzania, as well as their citizens.
