Summary of Justice Training Initiatives in Algeria

The Ministry of Justice in Algeria has initiated training sessions aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of magistrates and administrative staff. This effort is geared towards improving the overall effectiveness of the judiciary and law enforcement in the country.

International Cooperation in Counter-Terrorism

As part of this initiative, two Algerian magistrates will travel to Germany for a study visit focusing on international cooperation and knowledge exchange in counter-terrorism. This visit seeks to foster international collaboration, enabling participants to share expertise and establish connections among law enforcement officials from various nations. Discussions will include successful models of cooperation between national and international agencies in combating terrorism.

The sessions will cover significant topics such as the anti-terrorism system, risk assessment and management, and combating hate speech. This training aligns with the European Union’s objectives to enhance information sharing and improve criminal justice responses related to terrorism.

Training on Judicial Techniques

In collaboration with the Supreme Court, a specialized training program will be implemented for 14 magistrates working within various courts. This program aims to improve magistrates’ understanding of judicial processes and techniques, enabling them to apply for remedies more effectively.

Focus on Public Accounting Principles

Additionally, a training session on "Public Accounting Principles" will be conducted, involving 25 officials from the courts of justice. This training is designed to bolster the competencies and qualifications of personnel responsible for revenue collection management, ensuring they fully understand the legal framework and fundamental principles of public accounting.

Enhancing Statistical Competencies

Twelve officials from the central administration are set to participate in training at the National Higher School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSSEA). This program aims to enhance skills and knowledge among officials tasked with statistical analysis, ensuring better organization and optimal data processing.

Archival Management Training

Furthermore, training for 39 officials responsible for archive management will be provided at the regional center for judicial archives in Oran. This session aims to enhance their skills in managing the lifecycle of documents, including archiving, digitization, and electronic management processes.

By investing in the training and development of judicial staff, Algeria aims to strengthen its legal and law enforcement capabilities, thereby ensuring a more effective and responsive justice system.
