le complexe de trituration de graines oléagineuses « Kotama Agrifood » prêt avant mai prochain
The Algerian Minister of Industry, Sifi Ghrieb, announced on Wednesday in Jijel that the "Kotama Agrifood" oilseed crushing and vegetable oil extraction complex located in Bazoul, Taher commune, will be operational before May. This statement was made during his inspection of the ongoing construction at the complex’s site, referred to as zone 16.
Ghrieb emphasized the commitment to meet the directives set by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune regarding the timely completion of the project. He noted that the Algerian engineers and project managers have succeeded in overcoming various challenges to complete the project, which had previously seen only 30% of its construction finished. Now, he stated, the complex is nearing completion and will soon begin preliminary testing.
The complex is designed to extract crude vegetable oils from soybeans and includes a crushing unit for oilseeds, a storage facility for the raw material (soybeans), and a final product storage and marketing unit for oils. Managed by the Madar Group, this facility is expected to fulfill 40% of Algeria’s demand for crude vegetable oils and provide 60% of the demand for meal, a solid by-product used in animal feed, which is produced after oil extraction.
Ghrieb will continue his work visit to Jijel the following day by inspecting the "Chemiserie Djen Djen" tannery in the provincial capital and assessing the development project for the Bellara industrial zone in El Milia commune.
