une caravane de sensibilisation lancée à Constantine
Information and Awareness Caravan on Food Safety Launched in Constantine
A food safety awareness caravan was recently initiated in Constantine, organized by the local commerce department. This initiative sees the deployment of 64 consumer protection and fraud control agents organized into 32 brigades. As reported by interim director Nabila Zebiri, the caravan aims to educate the public about food poisoning prevention methods.
Target Audience and Activities
The caravan specifically targets professional training centers, youth facilities, and various types of food outlets—such as fast food restaurants, classified restaurants, bakeries, large retail stores, and other public commerce locations. Since its launch last week, the caravan has collaborated with several partners, including local health and environment departments, civil protection services, and consumer protection associations.
So far, it has made visits to shopping centers and markets within the province’s capital and surrounding municipalities such as Ain Smara, Hamma Bouziane, El Khroub, and Zighoud Youcef. This outreach aims to raise awareness among citizens regarding the importance of consuming safe food products that comply with hygiene standards and are preserved in accordance with required norms, including maintaining the cold chain.
Program Duration and Future Plans
The caravan is scheduled to continue until June 30. It will conclude with a study day intended for managers and staff of event venues, which are primarily situated in Constantine, Ain Smara, El Khroub, Ain Abid, Hamma Bouziane, Didouche Mourad, and the Ali Mendjeli administrative area.
This initiative is vital for promoting food safety in the region, ensuring that consumers are well-informed about the standards necessary for healthy food consumption.
Through this caravan, the focus is on creating a more informed community that understands and values food safety, thereby reducing the risks associated with foodborne illnesses.
