Début des travaux du rassemblement arabe des pionniers scouts et guides
Summary of the Arab Scout and Guide Gathering in Algiers
The Arab Scout and Guide gathering commenced on Saturday in Algiers, attended by representatives from various ministries and scout associations across the Arab region. Led by Abderrahmane Hamzaoui, the General Commander of the Algerian Muslim Scouts (SMA), the event aims to showcase the contributions of Algerian scouts to the Arab scouting movement and highlight Algeria’s recent developmental progress.
During the opening ceremony, Hamzaoui announced that this year’s official celebration of the National Day of SMA will take place in the Mostaganem region, coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of the SMA’s founder, Mohamed Bouras. To commemorate this occasion, various conferences and events will be organized throughout the country.
Hamzaoui emphasized the SMA’s dedication to supporting scouting initiatives and strengthening ties of brotherhood among Arab peoples. He stressed the importance of continuing the Arab scouting movement’s commitment to the Palestinian cause, positioning it as a central concern for younger generations.
He reflected on the historical milestones of the SMA, acknowledging its pioneering role in serving society and promoting values such as citizenship, solidarity, and fraternity. The rector of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, Mohamed Maâmoun Al Kacimi Al Hoceini, supported this narrative by pointing out that the SMA has nurtured generations committed to national service, instilling them with spiritual and patriotic values. He also highlighted the SMA’s reformative role in combating social issues and promoting moral integrity.
Overall, the gathering serves not only as a platform for celebrating the contributions of scouts but also as a rallying point for promoting social values and solidarity among Arab nations, particularly in advocating for important causes like the Palestinian struggle.
