Conference on Digital Transformation in Education Sector Initiated in Algiers
The national conference focused on evaluating digital transformation within the education sector commenced on Saturday at the International Conference Center Abdelatif-Rahal in Algiers. This event aims to strengthen the digital transition in education, recognizing it as a strategic choice for the nation.
During the opening speech, the Minister of National Education, Mr. Mohammed Seghir Sadaoui, emphasized that digitization goes beyond mere technical choices; it’s a collective social responsibility and a strategic process that requires the involvement of all Algerian talents. He announced the launch of several new digital services designed to enhance digitization in the sector. These include a revamped ministry website, the "mawidy" platform for scheduling appointments related to diploma verification, and a dedicated service for surveys and questionnaires.
The conference aims to accomplish several objectives: it will deliver a comprehensive assessment of the current state of digitization in education, involve various stakeholders to pinpoint primary challenges affecting the digital transformation process, and tailor legislative and regulatory frameworks to meet the demands of this transition, thereby aligning with national ambitions.
Participants will engage in discussions aimed at embedding a digital culture within education, raising awareness about cybersecurity risks to ensure a safe digital environment in educational institutions, and developing an updated information system that meets the digital transformation requirements of the country and aspirations of the educational community.
The conference serves as a vital platform for fostering collaboration among various actors in the education sector, reinforcing the commitment to a more digitally adept educational framework, and paving the way for future advancements in digital education practices.
