The Arts and Culture Establishment of Algiers has announced the launch of the inaugural « Alger Photography Marathon, » themed « Celebrate the Beauty and Heritage of the City of Algiers Through Your Lens. » This initiative aims to promote the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Algiers by encouraging photographers to capture and document its beauty through professional photography.
The competition is designed to stimulate creativity among both professional and amateur photographers, motivating them to produce unique images that reflect the historical and aesthetic value of Algiers. In addition, it seeks to identify and showcase emerging talents in the field of photography. This contest is part of the cultural and artistic program organized by the Wilaya of Algiers and coincides with the Heritage Month celebrations, running from April 18 to May 18.
Open to all Algerian photographers aged 18 and older, the competition requires participants to focus exclusively on the capital city of Algiers during the contest period, ensuring that their submissions align with the established theme. Participants must submit a series of five to ten photographs along with their personal information via email by April 17. A jury of professional photographers will evaluate the entries and select ten finalists to compete in the final round scheduled for April 26, 27, and 28 in Algiers.
