Ceremony at the Military Administration School in Oran

On Sunday evening, Major General Ahmed Gharbi, the Central Director of Logistics at the Ministry of National Defense, presided over the graduation ceremony at the "Moudjahid Défun Akhamoukh Hadj Moussa" Military Administration School in Oran, which is in the Second Military Region. This event celebrated the graduation of five promotions for the academic year 2024-2025.

The graduating classes were named in honor of the martyr Benhalima Mohamed. They included the 5th class of command and staff, the 81st class of officer training, the 14th class in military administration specialization, the 8th class of military administration retraining, and the 15th cohort of career officer students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Major General Gharbi inspected the ranks of graduates, supervised their oath of allegiance, and presented diplomas and ranks to the graduates, who included officers from Palestine, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mauritania, Cameroon, and Congo. He also oversaw the transfer of the national flag from the outgoing class to the incoming one, and approved naming the graduating class after martyr Benhalima Mohamed.

In his address, General Khouza Karim, the Commander of the Military Administration School, commended the quality of both theoretical and practical training provided to the graduates. He highlighted the comprehensive military, administrative, and scientific knowledge imparted by specialized instructors, emphasizing that this training equips them to perform their duties with professionalism and efficiency. He encouraged the new officers to exhibit dedication in defending the country’s sovereignty, security, and stability.

General Karim also pointed out the academic collaboration between the school and several national universities, which has elevated the quality of education and ensured the training of highly qualified officers.

During the ceremony, graduates demonstrated their skills through military parades set to military music, showcasing their rigorous organization and perfect coordination. They also performed close-combat demonstrations and presentations in martial arts such as karate, judo, and kuk sool, reflecting the diverse activities they engaged in throughout their training.

At the close of the event, Major General Gharbi honored the family of martyr Benhalima Mohamed, after whom the graduating class was named. Benjamin Mohamed, born in 1936 in Oran, was a key figure during Algeria’s liberation war, known as a fidaï in various neighborhoods of Oran. After his discovery by colonial authorities in 1961, he joined the National Liberation Army, where he led guerrilla operations against colonial forces, inflicting significant damage on the enemy. He was often referred to as "Si Abdelmalek" and continued to actively fight in historical Wilaya V until he fell as a martyr in the mountains between Al Mascarah and Sidi Bel Abbes in 1961.

The Military Administration School was established in 1968 in Beni Messous, Algiers, and integrated in 1971 into the El Harrach Technical Training and Supply School. It was relocated to its current site in Oran in 1975 and has undergone various developments, adopting its current name in 2008.

This summary provides an overview of the graduation ceremony, detailing the achievements of the students, the significance of their training, and the honor bestowed upon martyr Benhalima Mohamed.
