A significant aspect of Zerrouki’s announcement included the approval of a project to enhance connectivity by establishing fixed, mobile, and internet telecommunications networks in remote and isolated areas, particularly border regions. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to improving public service delivery in less accessible locations.

Looking ahead, the minister presented ambitious targets for the telecommunications sector, aiming for 97% mobile network coverage nationwide by 2025. During the visit, the ministerial delegation inspected the mobile network services provided by the operator Ooredoo and a photovoltaic power station in Douar El-Mae, located 80 kilometers southeast of El-Oued.

The delegation’s activities in El-Oued also involved visits to recent infrastructural developments, including the new headquarters of Algeria Post and a postal office in the Sidi-Mestour neighborhood. Zerrouki emphasized the importance of enhancing public service quality and proximity to customers through these enhancements.

Additionally, the minister underscored the significance of expediting fiber-optic connectivity projects, particularly for the neighborhoods "Chouhada" and "Nassim." He stressed the urgent need to accelerate project implementation to facilitate extensive fiber-optic coverage across all 22 communes within the wilaya.
