Elie Lemmel, a rabbi previously assaulted in Deauville, was attacked again in Neuilly-sur-Seine while sitting at a café. A 28-year-old man threw a chair at him, causing facial injuries, and was later arrested and hospitalized after a psychiatric evaluation. Witnesses intervened, and despite the shock, local life resumed normally. Lemmel, who has experienced two separate attacks, expressed he doesn’t feel personally targeted. The assailant, identified as having documents from Gaza and no criminal record, has raised concerns among residents about rising violence in their typically peaceful community. Many are apprehensive about the implications for local perceptions and community safety.
