The 23rd edition of the International Agricultural, Livestock, and Agro-Industry Fair (SIPSA-FILAHA) commenced on a Monday in Algiers, showcasing the participation of 800 operators from both Algeria and abroad. The inauguration was attended by Youcef Cherfa, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries. He highlighted the significance of this year’s event, noting the robust interest from local and international enterprises, which reflects the momentum in Algeria’s agricultural sector driven by reforms and incentives implemented in recent years.
Designated as a pivotal event for operators in various agricultural, fishing, and agro-industrial fields, the SIPSA-FILAHA spans an exhibition area of over 35,000 square meters. Among the participants are 800 companies from 40 countries, with Italy serving as the honored guest of this year’s edition.
The fair is structured into three distinct sections focusing on agricultural production, aquaculture, and exports to Africa. Throughout the event, several study days will address themes including potato and date production, Saharan agriculture, and agro-food industries. Additionally, awards for the Innovation Contest in African Agriculture (AFRIKA SIPSA INNOV) will be presented on the final day of the fair.
Overall, the fair serves as a significant platform for fostering partnerships and innovation within the agricultural sector, with an emphasis on enhancing Algeria’s agricultural landscape.
