HBC El Biar Wins the 2024 Algerian Handball Super Cup
The HBC El Biar women’s handball team triumphed over CF Boumerdès, clinching the 2024 Super Cup of Algeria with a decisive score of 36 to 21. The match took place on Friday at the Harcha Hacène Hall in Algiers, with Halftime showing a comfortable lead for El Biar at 19-08.
This victory not only allowed them to retain the title they had previously won against the same rival but also marked their third Super Cup win in history, succeeding their previous titles in 2021 and 2023.
In the men’s category, the final of the 2024 Super Cup was set to feature M Bordj Bou Arreridj, the recent double winner of the Coupe and Championship, facing off against JSE Skikda, the finalists of the Coupe d’Algérie. This match was scheduled for 17:00 that same day.
In May 2024, both HBC El Biar (women) and ES Ain Touta (men) claimed victory in the last edition of the Super Cup, with El Biar defeating CF Boumerdès 32-23 and Ain Touta beating OM Annaba 29-24.
