The Hackathon Oran 2, held at the University of Oran 2 "Mohamed Benahmed," was a vibrant three-day event celebrating innovation and creativity. First Place: Aqua Guard
The top honors went to students from the University of Algiers 1 for their project, "Aqua Guard." This IoT-based intelligent system is designed to detect water leaks early. According to Habiba Mahious, president of the scientific club "Master Mind" and event organizer, Aqua Guard stands out for its capability to issue instant alerts and automatically stop leaks, effectively preventing potential damage. The project epitomizes the blend of technology with proactive disaster prevention, showcasing a practical approach to water conservation. -
Second Place: Ferme Autosuffisante
The second prize was awarded to students from the Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology in Algiers for their innovation, "Ferme Autosuffisante." This project integrates hydroponic agriculture with fish farming, operating on renewable energy and managed by artificial intelligence. Its sustainable design not only maximizes resource efficiency but also features notifications for any malfunctions or issues, thereby ensuring reliable operation in agricultural settings. - Third Place: Nova Energy
Third place was captured by students from the University of Boumerdès with their project "Nova Energy." The hackathon featured 14 teams comprised of students from a diverse range of institutions, including the universities of Ghardaïa, Blida 1, Ouargla, Chlef, Saïda, Mascara, El Oued, Sétif, Skikda, and Tipaza, in addition to Oran 2.
