Brookie, a 11-month-old Samoyed, tragically died at Calvi Airport in Haute-Corse when her transport crate was crushed between two conveyor belts. The dog was set to travel with a family returning home for Easter, but as they awaited boarding, they were informed of the accident. Brookie’s owner, Marine, described the horrific scene, while her partner, Denis, expressed outrage and plans to sue Air France. He has also initiated a petition for better treatment of animals during air travel, which has garnered over 6,000 signatures. The airport management apologized, attributing the incident to a « technical malfunction. »
