Summary of the National Show Jumping Competition in Oran
The first weekend of the national show jumping competition, featuring one- and two-star events, commenced on Thursday at the "Monté Cristo" equestrian center in Es-Senia, Oran. This remarkable equestrian event, lasting two weeks, is organized by the Monté Cristo Equestrian Club in collaboration with the Algerian Equestrian Federation. It has attracted over 150 riders from 25 equestrian clubs across the country, competing in cadet, junior, and senior categories.
During this initial three-day weekend, 15 competitions will take place, with obstacles set at heights ranging from 1.15 to 1.30 meters. The second phase of the event is scheduled for May 29-31. This competition not only offers riders a chance to win prizes but also serves as a platform for them to enhance their national rankings.
The Oran event is not merely a show jumping competition but a spectacular showcase of performance, elegance, and luxury on the beautiful Monté Cristo racetrack. For three days, the nation’s top riders face off against challenging courses, providing a unique opportunity to measure up against their peers, assess their horses, and improve their skills. The technicality of the courses is high, showcasing impressive horse mastery.
Sid Ali Allali, a top rider from the Bordj El Kiffan club, emphasized the crucial role that the quality of the Monté Cristo racetrack plays in influencing the horses’ jumping ability. He noted that a well-maintained track ensures both safety and performance, improving the horses’ natural stride and rhythm, which is essential for optimal speed during competitions.
This event is a highlight in the national equestrian calendar, offering both novice and seasoned riders a chance to display their talent in a stunning setting.
