Summary of HCLA’s Achievements on the 63rd Independence Day Celebration

On the occasion of Algeria’s 63rd Independence and Youth Day, the Higher Council of the Arabic Language (HCLA) held a ceremony in Algiers to showcase its accomplishments in publishing and digitization during the first half of 2025.

President Salah Belaïd highlighted the key achievements aimed at promoting the Arabic language, which include the development of linguistic publications and research materials. A major highlight of the event was the introduction of an electronic platform for the "1er Novembre" magazine, published by the National Organization of Moudjahidine (ONM). This platform grants access to the magazine’s complete archive of 198 issues, compiled in a guide titled "Catalogue of the 1er Novembre Magazine (1972-2023)," aiding researchers interested in its content.

Belaïd also presented a translated version (in French and English) of the "Dictionnaire de la culture algérienne," released in 2022. This dictionary honors Algeria’s rich heritage and ancient civilization, underscoring HCLA’s commitment to preserving collective memory and components of the Algerian identity.

In addition, the HCLA celebrated the launch of the "Vocabulaire fonctionnel du cycle d’enseignement primaire," a collaborative effort by researchers and educators. This work focuses on compiling essential school terminology for primary education.

Moreover, a cooperation agreement was signed between HCLA and the Hamma Botanical Garden Management Company, with the aim of creating an updated edition of the "Dictionnaire de la culture algérienne" that incorporates new aspects related to the garden’s botanical heritage.

Through these initiatives, the HCLA demonstrates its dedication to promoting the Arabic language, bolstering educational resources, and celebrating Algeria’s cultural richness, ensuring that the country’s linguistic and historical legacy remains accessible for future generations.
