cérémonie à l’occasion du 63e anniversaire de la Fête de la Victoire
On Tuesday evening in Algiers, the El-Bina Movement held a ceremony to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the Victory Day (March 19, 1962). The event featured a collective iftar dinner and was attended by political party leaders, national associations, and prominent figures from the sports and cultural sectors.
During the ceremony, Salem Cherif, the president of the Council of the Choura of the El-Bina Movement, praised the achievements of Algeria in recent years under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He emphasized that these accomplishments were made “in fidelity to the Proclamation of November 1 and the oath of the brave martyrs and valiant fighters.” Cherif also underscored the importance of preserving the constants of national identity.
The El-Bina Movement condemned the « malicious campaign » waged by the far-right in France against Algeria, asserting that such efforts would not deter the country’s resolve to continue its journey towards progress and prosperity. Cherif highlighted the contributions of the People’s National Army (ANP), the rightful successor to the National Liberation Army (ALN), in safeguarding the nation and defending its sovereignty and security.
Additionally, the political movement reaffirmed its unwavering support for the « honorable » positions of Algerian diplomacy, especially regarding the support for legitimate liberation causes worldwide, with particular emphasis on the Palestinian and Sahrawi issues.
The event underscored a broader sentiment of national unity and purpose, celebrating Algeria’s independence while also reaffirming a collective commitment to ongoing social and political progress. Attendees expressed solidarity in response to external criticisms, reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to its domestic and international responsibilities.
