Participation of Algeria’s Finance Minister in Arab Financial Institutions Meetings in Kuwait

On Wednesday, Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzred led a significant Algerian delegation to Kuwait to participate in the annual meetings of Arab financial institutions. This event included key discussions at various forums such as the 54th meeting of the Council of Governors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), the 48th meeting of the Governors’ Council of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), and the 49th gathering of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA). Additionally, Bouzred attended the 49th meeting of the shareholders of the Arab Investment and Agricultural Development Organization (AIADO) and the 52nd meeting of shareholders of the Arab Organization for Investment Guarantee and Export Credit (OAGICE).

The meetings commenced with remarks from Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, the interim Prime Minister of Kuwait, who emphasized the collective responsibility of Arab institutions to enhance regional integration and proactively tackle development challenges in the area. The meetings served as a platform to review the previous year’s activity reports, approve annual reports, assess financial statements, and discuss administrative budgets.

In addition to his participation in these key meetings, Bouzred presided over the supervisory council meeting of the "Badir" fund, which focuses on developing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He also engaged in the discussions held during the 16th session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, where various current topics related to public finance in the Arab region were discussed. These topics included debt management, energy security, digital transformation, economic growth, and international taxation.

Moreover, around these official meetings, Bouzred held several bilateral discussions with various finance ministers and senior officials from both regional and international financial institutions. The goal of these meetings was to explore cooperation priorities and strengthen partnerships.
