Baddari décerne des médailles de mérite à deux étudiantes algériennes dans les domaines de la médecine et du sport
On Wednesday in Algiers, Kamel Baddari, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presided over a ceremony honoring two outstanding students: Hiba Lamara, who achieved the first invention patent in medical sciences in Algeria, and Rayane Sekkour, who won Algeria’s first gold medal at the World « Series A » Karate Tournament.
During the ceremony, Baddari emphasized that these accolades are meant to inspire and commend Algeria’s talented youth, stating that his ministry is prepared to invest the necessary resources to support these exemplars and ensure their contributions benefit the country. He highlighted Lamara’s achievement of obtaining a patent for her innovative project involving an intelligent artificial pancreas, affirming that his ministry intends to support the development and commercialization of this invention, as it could significantly enhance public health in Algeria.
Baddari also praised Sekkour’s accomplishment, mentioning her gold medal victory as a significant achievement that bolsters Algeria’s presence in international sports and restores the country’s sporting accolades. He expressed his ministry’s commitment to further support Sekkour in her journey to earn additional medals.
Lamara, currently a seventh-year medical student and an active participant in the University of Algiers 1 entrepreneurial incubator, expressed gratitude for the support from official authorities, stating that it inspires her to continue her efforts in advancing scientific research. On her part, Sekkour, also a medical student, regarded her gold medal as merely the first step in her athletic journey, aspiring to achieve more accolades alongside her academic pursuits.
