Inauguration of Innovative Projects in Constantine

On Saturday, Kamel Baddari, Algeria’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated several innovative projects and research facilities during his working visit to Constantine. His visit began in the Ali Mendjeli administrative district, where he opened a business incubator and an entrepreneurship development center at the National Polytechnic School. These initiatives aim to help students and professors transform their creative ideas into start-ups and promising economic projects, aligning with the national strategy to enhance entrepreneurial culture within Algerian universities.

During his visit, Baddari assessed the functionality of workshops focused on the fabrication, installation, and repair of technical devices, as well as the available production resources to strengthen the university’s capacity to convert knowledge into technological products. He was briefed on three innovative project prototypes developed by students and faculty at the Polytechnic School, along with the patents filed, showcasing the institution’s dynamic approach to research and application.

Baddari also inspected the technological platform of the Polytechnic School, gaining insights into facilities dedicated to applied research and material development. He praised the ongoing efforts aimed at increasing the university’s contribution to the national economy. At the Technopole Hill site, he learned about programs and projects intended to enhance the university’s involvement in the economic and social landscape, ultimately striving for sustainable development goals and an innovative economy.

Additionally, Baddari visited the Faculty of Arts and Culture, where he attended an exhibition highlighting university theater clubs and start-ups active in the arts sector. He commended the artistic creativity as a vital component of student engagement.

In his remarks, Baddari emphasized that beyond its core mission of education, the Algerian university is dedicated to modernizing its approach by promoting and nurturing innovation, which has become a central focus. He noted the establishment of an economic subsidiary at the National Polytechnic School in Constantine as a significant step, reflecting continuous efforts to transform student and faculty ideas into viable start-ups and micro-enterprises, in addition to filing patents for potential commercialization and valorization.

This visit underscores the commitment of Algeria’s educational institutions to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering an environment where innovation can thrive and contribute to the broader economic landscape.
