Baddari salue « la forte orientation » des étudiants vers l’innovation et l’entrepreneuriat

Summary of Recent Developments in Algerian Higher Education and Research

On a recent visit to the University of Algiers 2, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, expressed strong approval of the growing trend among students towards innovation and entrepreneurship. This enthusiasm aligns with the developmental goals outlined in President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s strategic plan for Algeria from 2024 to 2029.

Baddari emphasized the importance of this trend, especially in light of the rapidly evolving national economy. He highlighted how universities and research centers are pivoting to transform innovative ideas into marketable products, which not only add value to the economy but also serve as essential levers for achieving national objectives.

During his visit, Baddari explored several initiatives at the Scientific and Technical Research Center for the Development of the Arabic Language (CRSTDLA). One notable project is an e-book application named Kitabi-E, designed to enhance students’ language skills and ease the challenges they face in their education. This innovative tool is proposed to be submitted to the Ministry of National Education, with the potential to alleviate the burden of heavy school backpacks by allowing students to download course materials directly.

Additionally, the minister reviewed another promising project focused on early detection of autism. This application, designed in Arabic and utilizing artificial intelligence, aims to bolster national efforts in early screening for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and improve care processes for affected individuals.

Baddari also visited the Entrepreneurship Development Center (CDE), where he underscored the necessity of providing students with adequate support and guidance to foster their entrepreneurial capabilities, thereby contributing meaningfully to the national development strategy.

Ghania Hamdani, director of CRSTDLA, reported that the center has introduced six products aimed at enhancing public health and national education, illustrating the center’s commitment to address pressing societal needs through innovative solutions.

In summary, the Algerian government is actively encouraging its youth to engage with entrepreneurship and innovation, marking a key step towards economic diversification and enhancement of the country’s educational framework. This approach reflects a broader commitment to not only advancing national growth but also harnessing the creativity and potential of the younger generation.
