Arrival of Algerian Pilgrims in Medina for Hajj

On Sunday, the first group of Algerian pilgrims, consisting of 250 individuals, landed in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on an Air Algérie flight from Algiers’ Houari Boumediene International Airport. This delegation included not just the Hadjis, but also a mission team comprising doctors, civil protection agents, guides, and journalists.

Upon arrival, the group was welcomed by the Consul General of Algeria in Jeddah, Mohamed Alem, alongside Belkhir Boudraa, the head of the Hajj Center in Medina. Alem took the opportunity to assess the accommodation arrangements for the pilgrims at one of the hotels in Medina. He emphasized that the Algerian government had spared no effort in ensuring that its citizens could perform Hajj smoothly, providing transportation, lodging, and addressing various organizational aspects related to the pilgrimage.

Boudraa echoed Alem’s sentiments, expressing appreciation for the efforts of the Algerian authorities, which have continuously worked to increase the number of Hajj quotas allocated to Algerians each year.

The pilgrims themselves expressed immense joy at their arrival in the Holy Places to perform the Hajj rituals, particularly after several years of anticipation and delays. They reported high levels of satisfaction with the organizational aspects of this season’s pilgrimage, highlighting the efficiency of transport services and the support from mission members, including medical personnel, civil protection agents, and consular staff.

Several Hadjis commended the efforts of the government, especially President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for their commitment to providing the best possible conditions to facilitate a fulfilling Hajj experience.
