Summary of Solidarity Initiatives for Eid El-Adha in Mascara

On Sunday, various solidarity initiatives were organized in the wilaya of Mascara to celebrate Eid El-Adha, according to reports from organizers.

Ten social and cultural associations, in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Action and Solidarity (DASS), organized activities that brought joy to children residing at the "El Amel" child care facility in Tighenif. These celebrations included recreational shows and a theatrical performance about the religious festival, produced by the "Jeunesse de la Quatrième Génération" theater association of Mascara, as highlighted by the facility’s director, Belkacem Nadji. Additionally, the "Nassim El-Leïl" troupe from Mohammadia performed traditional and religious songs.

The event featured two competitions: one for the best young "Mounchid" and another for the best story narrating the experiences related to Eid El-Adha. Children with intellectual disabilities from psychopedagogical centers in Mascara, Sig, Ghriss, and Mohammadia also received gifts, toys, and coloring books, along with enjoying special recreational performances. The participation of the national association "Amel El-Hayat," which aids children with cerebral motor disabilities, further enriched the event.

The DASS had prepared a comprehensive solidarity program for Eid El-Adha, which included visits to patients in public hospitals and to elderly care facilities in Mascara and Sig. Food aids and sheep meat were distributed to underprivileged families with the help of various associations, as noted by Mr. Nadji.

In a separate initiative, the commune of Sehailia, in collaboration with local benefactors and charitable associations, organized its first "Les Mains de la Bienfaisance" event for Eid El-Adha. This event provided meat and food parcels to 220 needy families in the community. Children also received gifts and participated in recreational shows.

The day included various activities, such as collective Quran readings with students from local Quranic schools, performances of fantasia, and recitations of popular poetry by local poets, according to the reports.

The solidarity efforts in Mascara highlight the community’s commitment to celebrating Eid El-Adha with joy and compassion, reflecting the spirit of unity and support during this significant religious occasion.
