Summary of Algerian Football Team’s Preparation for Friendly Match Against Sweden

The Algerian national football team is currently training at the Sidi Moussa Technical Center in Algiers, gearing up for a friendly match against Sweden scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, with kick-off at 18:00 local time. This information was confirmed by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) on its official website.

On Saturday, head coach Vladimir Petkovic led an intense training session focused on technical and tactical aspects, with full participation from the entire squad. The high intensity of the session reflects the players’ commitment to their preparation. The Algerian team is set to depart for Stockholm on Sunday afternoon via a special flight, ensuring their travel conditions are optimal.

In terms of the lineup, the team will be without players Youcef Belaïli and Mohamed-Amine Tougaï, who are currently competing with ES Tunis in the Club World Cup taking place in the United States from June 15 to July 13. Furthermore, striker Mohamed-Amine Amoura, who sustained an injury during a match against Rwanda, has undergone thorough medical examinations confirming his injury. He will also miss the upcoming friendly against Sweden.

The Algerian squad recently played a friendly match against Rwanda, which they won 2-0 at the Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine. These friendly matches are part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will resume in September.

Following the sixth matchday of the qualifiers in March, Algeria leads their group with 15 points, three points ahead of their nearest competitor, Mozambique. Only the group winners will qualify directly for the World Cup, while the four best runners-up will enter a continental playoff, followed by an intercontinental playoff for a chance to qualify.

As the team continues to enhance their strategies and build their squad, they remain focused on their goal of securing a place in the World Cup and performing well in their upcoming fixtures.
