Osama Krayem, a Swedish jihadist previously convicted for the Paris and Brussels attacks, is currently on trial in Sweden for his alleged role in the 2015 burning alive of Jordanian pilot Maaz al-Kassasbeh in Syria. This marks the first prosecution related to that notorious act. Prosecutors allege Krayem, part of an elite ISIS unit, directly participated in the abduction and execution. He denies the allegations, claiming limited involvement. The trial, held in a secured courtroom, features evidence including a scar identified in video footage of the crime. Krayem, already sentenced to long terms in France and Belgium, faces a potential life sentence.
