Summary of Mustapha Hidaoui’s Address on Volunteering and Youth Engagement in Illizi

On a recent visit to Illizi, Mustapha Hidaoui, the Minister of Youth and head of the Conseil supérieur de la Jeunesse (CSJ), emphasized the vital role of volunteering in fostering a sense of citizenship and civic responsibility among the youth of Algeria. During an iftar meal hosted at the "Chikhi Cheikh" youth hostel, he highlighted the significance of solidarity initiatives spearheaded by young people throughout the nation during Ramadan.

Hidaoui noted that these volunteer activities not only promote a sense of community but also embody the spirit of altruism prevalent during this month dedicated to good deeds. He pointed out the launch of the second edition of the national campaign "Bravo les jeunes," which aims to encourage youth engagement in volunteer work. The campaign exemplifies the values of mutual support and social cohesion that are critical to Algerian society and aligns with the mission of the CSJ to bolster patriotism and youth-led solidarity initiatives.

Furthermore, Hidaoui announced the Ministry’s active involvement in volunteering efforts this year, which includes providing youth hostels and camps to facilitate civil society actions. This initiative has allowed for efficient organization of charity activities, highlighting the ministry’s commitment to enhancing social solidarity through actions like distributing hot meals to passengers and those in need throughout Ramadan.

In a roundtable discussion following the communal iftar, the Minister received grievances from young attendees related to employment challenges. He encouraged them to explore entrepreneurial ventures, stressing the importance of offering guidance and training for those with innovative ideas and projects. The goal, Hidaoui emphasized, is to ensure that young entrepreneurs receive the necessary support to bring their concepts to fruition.

Continuing his work in Illizi, Hidaoui’s agenda includes overseeing the establishment of a local commission that will connect the youth sector with the Muslim Scouts of Algeria (SMA). Additionally, he is expected to sign a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Youth and the local authorities for Social Action and Solidarity, along with distributing materials to youth facilities.

The actions led by Hidaoui and the Ministry of Youth reflect a commitment to not only foster a sense of civic duty among young people but also to empower them in their personal and professional development. By nurturing volunteerism and encouraging entrepreneurship, the government seeks to address youth concerns and facilitate a more engaged and productive future generation. Through initiatives like the "Bravo les jeunes" campaign, the Minister is advocating for a culture of solidarity that can create a positive impact in communities across Algeria.
