On May 27, 2025, General Saïd Chanegriha, Algeria’s Army Chief of Staff and Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, supervised a live ammunition tactical exercise named "Soumoud 2025" in the 2nd Military Region. This exercise was part of the closing activities for the 2024/2025 combat readiness year and was conducted by the 36th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, with support from various military branches.
Accompanied by Major General Mohamed Tayeb Brakni, the Commander of the 2nd Military Region, General Chanegriha received a briefing from the Commander of the 36th Brigade on the exercise’s objectives and execution phases. The primary focus was to enhance combat capabilities and coordination among different military staffs, while also training commanders in preparing and executing operations against potential threats.
Throughout the exercise, General Chanegriha closely monitored the combat actions of the participating units, which displayed high professionalism in their execution.
