Enhancing Human Resource Training in Algeria’s Healthcare Sector
On Monday in Algiers, Health Minister Abdelhak Saihi emphasized the crucial need to integrate quality training into the development of human resources within the healthcare sector. This initiative aims to bolster performance levels and ensure optimal patient care delivery.
During his keynote address at the National School of Health Management and Administration (ENMAS), marking the commencement of the 13th class of senior health service administrators, Saihi highlighted the significance of embedding quality into educational programs. He stressed the need for modernizing academic content to align with current advancements in health facility management, ultimately enhancing patient care.
Minister Saihi also advocated for adopting contemporary management methods in healthcare establishments. He urged the incorporation of information and communication technology, along with artificial intelligence tools, to elevate service quality. He underscored that patients should be at the heart of the healthcare system.
Encouraging the new cohort of 90 students, Saihi called for increased effort and perseverance in their studies. He highlighted the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience, emphasizing the optimal use of internships and the mastery of foreign languages, particularly English.
Furthermore, he praised the efforts of ENMAS officials, recognizing the institution as a vital source of human resources for health facility management. He called for the modernization of administrative management practices, noting that ENMAS has already trained over 1,400 professionals in this field.
