On Saturday evening, Brahim Ait Lounis from the "Récif Azur" equestrian club in Zéralda earned the top honors at the two-star Grand Prix, part of the national show jumping competition held over three days at the "Monté Cristo" equestrian center in Es-Senia, Oran.

In this primary event, which included two rounds over a height of 1.35 meters, Ait Lounis impressively secured both the first and second places. He completed the course without faults in a time of 34.90 seconds on two different horses, "Hispano Semilly" and "Bonnie Montagne." The third place went to Azzedine Guerfi from the Ouled Fayet equestrian club, who rode "Chadid d’hem," finishing with a time of 38.78 seconds and accruing four penalty points.

The competition featured over thirty riders from both first and second degrees, riding horses aged six years and older, delivering an exciting spectacle for equestrian enthusiasts.

In the one-star Grand Prix, where obstacles measured 1.25 meters, Mahfoud Boudali of the Jeunesse Sportive de Tixeraïne club triumphed aboard "Donald." He was followed by Achour Mohamed Khebeb from the El Fares El Mestghanemi club riding "Ghaicha d’hem" and Yahia Yakoub of the Zaharya equestrian farm from Algiers, who rode “United du Fraka.” Young rider Younes Ferradj from the Elégance club in Tipaza and his horse “Dollars de Riverland” emerged as a standout competitor in the two-star event.

This noteworthy event in the national equestrian calendar was praised for its "appreciable" technical level by competition director Zine-Eddine Ait Youcef. The events were held on a beautiful, brand-new track built to international standards, ensuring excellent conditions and a festive, convivial atmosphere. Spectators turned out in large numbers, particularly for the exciting two-star and one-star events, which lived up to expectations, providing captivating performances.

Fifteen events took place during the first week, all characterized by a commendable level of technical skill, according to experts present in Oran. Organized by the "Monté Cristo" equestrian club in partnership with the equestrian federation, this three-day equestrian sports event gathered over 150 male and female riders from cadet, junior, and senior categories across 25 national equestrian clubs.

Winners received trophies and medals at the closing ceremony, attended by members of the Algerian Equestrian Federation and numerous former riders and equestrian aficionados.

Overall, the competition highlighted the growing popularity of show jumping in Algeria and showcased the talent and dedication of its riders, setting a high standard for future events.
