Kheira Flissi-Gherabi, the lawyer for Mohamed M., argued that the 30-year prison sentence sought by the prosecutor equated to a « death penalty » for her client. However, the jurors at the Bobigny court were not swayed by her defense. They sentenced Mohamed M. to 28 years in prison, with a two-thirds safety period, for the premeditated murder of 15-year-old Aymane on February 26, 2021, in Bondy. Flissi-Gherabi had consistently attempted to prove the absence of premeditation.
