Boughali reaffirmed Algeria’s long-standing support for just causes, particularly the Palestinian issue, stating that the gathering of the UIPA in Algeria aims to strengthen coordination among member states and develop effective working mechanisms to achieve shared noble goals. He highlighted the current complex regional context, marked by rapid geopolitical changes and numerous challenges, including occupation and population displacement. He stated that the Palestinian cause, in its historical, humanitarian, and political dimensions, remains a central priority.
Addressing the persistence of violence against the Palestinian people and the unprecedented suffering in Gaza and other occupied territories, Boughali underscored the collective responsibility to respond decisively. He called for the UIPA to enhance its effectiveness and presence in international forums, advocating for Arab unity, and the right to development.
Moreover, Boughali emphasized the importance of reconciliation and cooperation among Arab nations, noting that interconnected security issues—such as poverty, displacement, marginalization, and terrorism—require a unified approach. He announced that the outcomes from the 38th Congress (held on May 3-4) will serve as a roadmap for future initiatives, marking a new chapter in the UIPA’s mission to unite Arab parliaments and amplify their voice against injustice on international platforms.
