During the May 1st demonstration in Paris, socialist deputy Jérôme Guedj was attacked by a group of black blocs. He criticized the « brain-dead cretins » who assaulted him and condemned those who enable such violence through their words and silence. Guedj, who chose not to file a complaint, expressed disdain for individuals who foster division and aggression. He emphasized his concern over the normalization of anti-Semitism on the left, stating it breaks his heart that some on the left remain indifferent to this issue. Guedj also expressed disappointment in environmental leader Marine Tondelier for evading questions about far-left anti-Semitism.
