Summary of the Open Days Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Arts in Algeria

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Culture and Arts organized open days at the Palais de la Culture "Moufdi-Zakaria" in Algiers for high school students preparing for the June 2025 Baccalauréat exam. The event, inaugurated by Minister Zouhir Ballalou and Mohamed Allouche, the deputy director of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, runs until May 1 and is aimed at guiding prospective students through various higher educational opportunities.

In his opening speech, Ballalou emphasized that the cultural sector is expanding opportunities for young Baccalauréat candidates, allowing them access to high-quality specialized training. He noted that integrating artistic and technical paths into their educational choices represents a significant investment in both creative energies and the country’s cultural future.

The open days serve as a direct opportunity for potential candidates to familiarize themselves with structures offering higher education in the arts. Staff from the schools and institutes will provide essential information and guidance, ensuring students can make informed decisions about their educational paths.

Ballalou also stressed the importance of selecting the right artistic specialty. He encouraged attendees to visit various stands to gather details on course content and university curricula to align with their ambitions.

Participating institutions include the Institute for Higher Professions in Performing Arts (ISMAS), the Higher School of Fine Arts of Algiers (ESBAA), the National School for the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ENSCRBC) in Tipaza, the National Higher Institute of Music (INSM), and the National Higher Institute of Cinema named after Mohamed Lakhdar Hamina.

These institutions offer diverse artistic and technical training programs covering areas such as performing arts, music, cinema, audiovisual production, visual arts, theater, heritage, and literature, among others. This initiative is designed to equip young aspirants with the necessary tools and knowledge to pursue successful careers in the arts and culture sector.
